The first inning of work for the Pittsburgh Pirates went well for the 21-year-old former LSU standout and reputed boyfriend of Olivia Dunne.
Skenes, the first overall pick in the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft, made his professional debut this week with the Pirates of the Florida Coast League.
Walker Jenkins, the Minnesota Twins’ top prоspect and the fifth overall choice in this year’s draft, was struck out by Skenes.
The right-handed flamethrower displayed why he was such a highly coveted prоspect by throwing a scorching fastball that averaged 99 mph and reached 101 mph.
For a while now, it has been speculated that Dunne and Skenes are an item.
They were dating during the College World Series of Baseball.
In Omaha, Dunne cheered on the Tigers in her replica LSU shirt as Skenes led them to a 2-1 series victory over the Gators.
Skenes was drafted after the World Series, and Dunne wrote in an Instagram Story:
A “Great day to be a Tiger,” as reported by Fox News.They’re also Instagram friends with one another.
Skenes had to report to his rookie job in Florida, and Dunne was last seen online in the same place.
Neither of the athletes has commented on the rumоr.

She is a gymnast on the LSU varsity squad and is a senior this year.
