‘I’m just having the worst year of my life in baseball’

New York Yankees star Luis Severino hits rock bottom as he lasts TWO innings in White Sox defeat

While pitching for the New York Yankees, Luis Severino Һit rock bottom after Wednesday’s loss to the Chicago White Sox, saying, “I’m just having the worst year of my life in baseball.”

Severino has had a rough season for the Yankees, so they came up with a plan to help their struggling right-hander perform better against the Cubs.

The strain on the 29-year-old was reduced when manager Aaron Boone moved him to the bullpen and put him behind an opener in the second inning.

Boone and the Yankees had hoped for a better outcome, but Severino placed them behind by three runs they couldn’t recover from, and the game ended 9-2.

Against the White Sox, Severino only lasted two innings and allowed four runs, raising his ERA to 8.06 on the season.

This means the Yankees will have to decide whether to keep pitching him as they try to make the playoffs this year.

And after his most recent rough outing, Severino was open and honest about his form issues, saying he would do “anything to get better.”He admitted, “This is the worst baseball season of my life.” I don’t know if there’s anything else I can do, but for now I’ll try it.

I’ve always enjoyed starting, but things just aren’t clicking for me this season. I intend to keep working hard and improving.

This group is testing out new strategies to increase their win total and keep me on the field.

Severino entered Wednesday’s game with a 7.74 ERA in 13 starts this season, and the Yankees were tempted to pull him after an opener because of his 13.85 inning-one ERA.

Boone and co. likely thought this tactic would soften the Dominican’s fall, but it backfired when he was unable to regain his former form. When told he would be coming out of the bullpen, Severino said he was “a little bit” taken aback, but ultimately agreed it was a “good idea.”

Before Wednesday’s game, his ERAs in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings were 4.15, 8.53, 4.76, and 7.36, respectively.

“It’s obviously tough and Sevy’s feeling it,” Boone remarked after the loss.

We need to keep talking about this and working with him to attempt to right him. You can catch glimmers of it within, but we need to keep looking.
