Anthony Edwards, star player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, was fined $50,000 by NBA executive Joe Dumars on Wednesday for “recklessly swinging a chair in frustration that struck two bystanders as he exited the court” following a playoff game in Denver on April 25.
Edwards’ missed shot at the buzzer against the eventual champion Nuggets set off the incident. Denver police sаy the ex-University of Georgia star went down a tunnel, grabbed a chair, and swung at two female Ball Arena employees, injuring both of them.
Edwards faces two misdemeanor counts of third-degree аssаult.

Edwards, only 22, is close to signing a huge new contract. In the 2023–24 season, he will earn $13 million as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.
