In order to explain his first-ever three-pointer for France, NBA player Rudy Gobert makes a VERY strange comparison

After France defeated Montenegro in an exhibition game prior to the commencement of the FIBA World Cup later this month, Rudy Gobert made the startling comparison between shooting his first three-pointer and losing his virginity.

The French national team’s Twitter account translated the player’s postgame comment, which he gave after his team’s 80-69 triumph on Wednesday night, and posted it. The guy is a center for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Three-time NBA All-Star Rudy Gobert stated, “Tonight, I feel like I lost my virginity.”

The seven-footer was waiting patiently at the top of the arc for an inbound kιck from under the rim, and when he finally received the ball and let it fly, the audience went wild with anticipation.

As soon as the ball went into the net, the crowd at the Montpellier, France, arena began to roar.

French forward Nicolas Batum of the Los Angeles Clippers tweeted courtside video of Rudy Gobert’s missed attempt and made fun of his teammate.

He captioned the clip with the words, “Those scouting reports about to be different,” alongside a laughing emoji.

Gobert, currently 31 years old, has played in the NBA for 10 seasons and is well-known for being a three-time Defensive Player of the Year award winner.

The NBA’s leading rebounder from last season has never made a three-point shot in the NBA despite taking 14 attempts.

And according to StatMuse, in the last ten years in the NBA, Gobert has scored the most points without ever making a three-pointer.

Last season, the T-Wolves were led by France’s big man, who averaged 13.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.

After ending the 2022-23 season as the No. 8 seed with a 42-40 record, Minnesota was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Denver Nuggets, who went on to win the NBA title.

The Utah Jazz sent Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves last offseason in exchange for four first-round picks, the draft rights to center Walker Kessler, Pat Beverley, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Leandro Bolmaro, and a 2026 first-round pick swap.
