Shohei Ohtani surpasses another incredible mark with the Angels that just 7 other players in MLB history have done.

One of the greatest and most distinctive baseball players ever is Shohei Ohtani. It’s highly uncommon for a guy to be able to hit a home run and accumulate double-digit strikeouts in the same game, but Ohtani is capable of doing it any given night.

The Los Angeles Angels player is the clear favorite to earn MVP as a result. Ohtani continued to add to his stellar resume during the Angels’ game against the Seattle Mariners on Thursday night.

According to a tweet from ESPN Stats and Info, Shohei Ohtani became just the eighth player in MLB history to accumulate 600 strikeouts in his first 84 pitching appearances after recording his third strikeout of the game. Ohtani proves that he always has more tricks up his sleeve just when you think he’s accomplished everything.

Ohtani will become a free agent after the 2023 season, making him the most sought-after talent the game has seen in a while. Despite being one of the best players to ever play the game, Ohtani has never advanced past the first round of the playoffs due to the failure of the Angels. He might be moving on in free agency as a result.

Los Angeles has improved this year, but they remain outsiders in the race for the playoffs. With a record of 56-53, the Angels are now seven games behind the Texas Rangers for first place in the AL West and in fourth place overall. Los Angeles, though, is still very much in contention for the wild card since they are only 3.5 games away from a position. The baseball world would be thrilled to witness one of the greats on the grandest stage, so it will be intriguing to watch whether Ohtani and the Angels can find a path into the playoffs.
