Max Scherzer and Erica May-Scherzer are expecting a sister for their son, Derek Alexander, but he doesn’t seem thrilled about it.

Erica shared the news that she and her partner were expecting their fourth child together on Instagram on Monday.

Our crаzy circus on the road is ready to ramp up a notch! The Scherzer family is expecting a girl in February of 2023. Erica captioned a snapshot of her family that included a sad face Derek, their 2-year-old son, sitting in the grass and sobbing.

Scherzer, who is 38 years old, and his wife have two kids, Brooke, 4, and Kacey, 3.

The Mets ace and his wife revealed their pregnancy by posting a photo of themselves with their four children holding balloons numbered one through four.

The official Mets Instagram account sent their hearty congratulations. Bryce Harper’s wife, Kayla, of the Philadelphia Phillies, commented her congratulations to the Scherzers.

In May of last year, while Scherzer was making a start for the Nationals, Erica gave birth to the couple’s baby through planned C-section.

After Wаshington’s victory over Miami on May 2, the All-Star pitcher immediately headed to the hospital to have her baby. At 5:38 p.m., almost 4.5 hours after first pitch, Erica gave birth to her son Derek.

Scherzer signed a three-year, $130 million agreement with the Mets in November 2021, after spending a brief time with the Dodgers. The average annual compensation for the duration of the contract is a record-breаking $43.3 million. For the Mets, Scherzer has a 9-4 record and a 2.27 ERA.
