Ahmad Mohammed, a young boy from Rome, Iraq, landed the lead role in the film ‘Messi Baghdad’ by Kurdish director Sahim Omar Khalifa.
Recently, he had the opportunity to meet two world-famous football stars, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, who both play for Paris Saint-Germain, at the stadium in Paris, France on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
During the meeting, he received a signed Messi shirt as a token of their encounter.
The feature film ‘Messi of Baghdad’ premiered in the main competition section of the 15th Ostend International Film Festival in the Belgian coastal city of Ostend, held from December 27 to February 4, 2023.
The movie is produced by Hendrik Verte through A Team Productions in Belgium and Mohammed Aktash through Mitos Film in Germany, the Netherlands, and the Kurdistan Region.
Wild Bunch, one of Europe’s most prominent film publishing companies, is responsible for the film’s release.
