It has been confirmed. Lionel Messi has opted to go to the United States and join Major League Soccer club Inter Miami. Messi was given a large contract by Saudi Arabia, but he chose to relocate to the United States instead.
After departing Paris Saint-Germain at the end of his two-year contract, Messi, 35, has decided on his next step. He has revealed that he will join Miami because a return to Barcelona is unthinkable owing to the Nou Camp’s persistent financial problems. Messi will join the Miami Dolphins.
Messi was quoted in the newspapers Diario Sport and Mundo Deportivo as saying, “I’ve made the decision to go to Miami.”
“[I’ve decided] to leave Europe.”
“It’s true that I had offers from another European team, but I didn’t even think about it because, in Europe, my idea was only to go to Barcelona,” he said, which is correct, but he didn’t even consider it.
“After winning the World Cup and being unable to move to Barcelona, it’s time for me to go to the MLS to live football in a different way and enjoy my day-to-day life more.”
“Obviously, with the same sense of responsibility, desire to win, and drive to do things well, but with more calm.”
Messi will surpass Wayne Rooney, Gareth Bale, and David Beckham, the latter of whom is a co-owner of Inter Miami, as the most famous player in Major League Soccer (MLS) history.
Messi is familiar with Inter because he practiced there with the rest of the Argentina national team in September before facing Honduras in a World Cup warm-up match at Hard Rock Stadium. Inter’s training facility is in Milan, Italy.
Messi would complete the game with two goals, one of which was a fantastic chip shot, as Argentina defeated their opponents 3-0.
In the days following the game, Messi returned to the training site to speak with some of Inter’s players, including Gonzalo Higuain, who had previously played on the same national team as him.
Inter’s Argentine goalkeeper Ranieri was among those who spoke with Messi, and he was the one who asked the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to sign his arm.
Messi gratefully agreed, and Ranieri moved quickly to make it permanent. The next day, he had his signature tattooed on his body. View the video that has been embedded below.
After a while, Ranieri posted a photo of his new tattoo to Instagram with the message, “The best day ever.” One of my dreams came true the other day. I got to play on the field with my national team, which included some of my idols.
“I finally met my hero, the greatest player of all time, an incredible person on and off the field, and my role model!” It’s tough to express how thrilled I was to see you and learn that you had agreed to autograph my arm.
“Leo, you made a dream come true, and the tattoo on my arm will remind me of the joy I felt when I first met you.”
“I don’t know how to express how wonderful you are!” To be able to carry out fantasies like the one I got to live out yesterday, a great lot of sacrifice and the setting aside of many other things was required.
“The opportunities that this sport is providing for me!” Let us keep going because the time is now more than ever!”
As a result of Ranieri’s choice in February to join the team representing Florida Atlantic University, he will not be able to play for a professional club alongside Lionel Messi.
He has, however, responded positively to reports that Messi will be landing in Miami soon. He captioned a photo of the two of them together on Instagram “Sonando despierto,” which translates to “daydreaming.” Messi will be a member of the Miami Dolphins.
