Luka Doncic vocal on becoming Slovenia captain

In the following month, Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines will host the FIBA World Cup. Team USA is loaded with NBA talent, but every other team in the tournament also has NBA players on its roster.

Luka Doncic, currently a member of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, was recently elected captain of the Slovenian national team. About a month before the tournament starts, the Mavs player took to social media and posted a picture of himself in peak physical condition. In other news, Doncic recently told BasketNews.com that he has high hopes for the Slovenian national team at the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Every time, the end result is the same. It’s always to win the championship,” Doncic said of the team’s championship pursuits. What actually occurs is a different story. For me, the end result is always the same.

Luka Doncic discussed his new role as captain of the Slovenian national team. It is a great privilege to lead this team. Together, the team’s coach and players came to this conclusion. I feel quite privileged. It’s a great accomplishment,” Doncic remarked. It’s hardly a brand-new position for me. When the national team was in Dallas, I was a vocal leader in the locker room.

This competition is an official Olympic Trials for the 2024 Summer Games. Doncic’s last stint as Slovenia’s leader ended in defeat against Poland at the 2022 EuroBasket. With the Mavs, Doncic has become one of the league’s best players and a four-time All-Star.
