The latest NBA celebrity to weigh in on the potential transfer of PSG sensation Kylian Mbappe to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal is LeBron James.
The widely publicized $332 million offer to PSG, which leaves out the rᴜmored $770 million Mbappe might make from the one-year deal offer, shocked the sports world.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, the star player for the Milwaukee Bucks, tweeted on Monday, “Al Hilal you can take me,” to which Mbappe responded. According to a source, the Frenchman was uninterested in the offer, but I look like Kylian Mbappe.
James has since joined the cause and playfully joked that he should leave for Saudi Arabia.
James tweeted on Monday night, “Me headed to Saudi when they call @RichPaul4 & @mavcarter for that 1 year deal! “, along with a gif of Forrest Gump running.
James’ NBA career’s highest-earning year will be 2023–24, for context. His base pay will be $47.6 million, which is more than $700 million less than what Mbappe could earn if he left Paris, according to Spotrac. J.R. Smith, a former teammate of James’, who is currently a golfer for North Carolina A&T State, tweeted in 2022 that he would consider joining the wealthy, Saudi-backed LIV Golf. In answer to Mail Sport’s news editor Alex Raskin, he replied, “[$]200ms [sic] that would be a hҽll of a conversation especially if I’m not “McIlroyRory level.”
The £198 million acquisition of Neymar from Barcelona to PSG would be surpassed by Al-Hilal’s offer as the most expensive in football history.
According to rᴜmors, the Saudi Pro League team may include a release provision in a lucrative deal, allowing Mbappe to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.
Mbappe has always shown interest in moving to Madrid, and many people think that his free transfer to the Spanish powerhouse in 2024 will be a formality.
