Giannis Antetokounmpo jokes about looking like Kylian Mbappé

Even NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was delighted by Al Hilal’s promise to pay Kylan Mbappe over $750 million to play with them for a single season. The Milwaukee Bucks forward tweeted on Monday to request a spot on the Saudi Arabian team’s roster.

He claimed that he resembles the soccer star and even uploaded a selfie to prove it. Instead of raising two fingers as Mbappe did, Antetokounmpo smiled broadly and lifted his index finger in the image.

“You can take me, Al Hilal. I resemble Kylian Mbappe,” wrote Antetokounmpo.

After less than an hour, Mbappe viewed the post. Probably speechless, he quoted the tweet with 13 laughing emojis to show that he found Giannis’ idea amusing. Both have short hairstyles and are elite athletes. Even more people began submitting more images to contrast them side by side.

It’s not certain, though, if Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA MVP and the MVP of the 2021 NBA Finals, had the necessary skills to play soccer on par with Mbappe. With the Bucks, Antetokounmpo will enter Year 3 of a five-year, $228 million contract, which is not a bad salary but not as stunning as the one given to Mbappe.

He wasn’t the only NBA player who found it hard to grasp how much money a soccer great might make abroad. Damian Lillard, a trade demand this offseason for the Portland Trail Blazers, required some time to consider the offer made to Mbappe.

‘1 year 776mm? Wtf lmaσ,” wrote Lillard.

NBA Norris Cole, a two-time champion, responded, “I guess we picked the wrong sport bro lol.”
